Guinea Pig Food

Guinea Pig History

Guinea pigs make great pets, they are low maintenance, they are inexpensive to care for and they are sweet and loving pets even though they are rodents. You don’t really realize that fact that they are in the same family as rats and mice. They are cute and cuddly and they like to play rather than freak you out by hiding in a garbage can or something.

Guinea pigs have been around since the year 2000BC, they have a reputation for being evil conductors and made to be the sacrifice in rituals way back in the BC years. But then they were brought over by the Dutch and English as pets and they don’t really serve any other purpose besides being a pet.

The guinea pig is a basic low maintenance pet. You clean their cages, give them food, give them water and play with them. They love you unconditionally and they can be handled well and they have a great disposition about them.

You see them as classroom pets in the schools. The children can play with them and learn how to feed and take care of an animal. Guinea pigs don’t bite skin unless you are provoking them by mishandling them and getting in their space when they don’t want you there. By nature the guinea pigs were wild so they have an instinct of protecting themselves.

As long as you respect their space, they are the greatest creatures in the world.
